A common misconception in society is that "being disorganized" means you are lazy.
This is far from true.
Organizing does not come naturally to everyone! There is cognitive psychology (or brain science) behind it.
We have two "thinking areas" in our brains:
Prefrontal Cortex - responsible for planning & personality development
Anterior Cingulate Cortex - responsible for decision-making & emotional regulation.
Everyone has these "thinking areas" in their brain, meaning everyone is capable of organizing their thoughts, actions and emotions. The difference between being disorganized or organized is how or if these "thinking areas" are being accessed. We don't automatically know how to do this - we have to be taught, or have some help along the way.
This is where I come in! As a Professional Organizer, my job is to help my clients access these "thinking areas" by implementing personalized routines to meet their individual goals, personality, or lifestyle. These strategies are designed to be simple, easy to maintain, and seamlessly intertwine with their day-to-day lives.
It's important to keep in mind that Organizing is not a 'one-size-fits-all' lifestyle. This means that the strategies that may work for one person may not work for another.
